On October 21, 2005 the daughter of our friend and co-worker, Mike Swistak, died when she was thrown from her horse. Randi Lee Swistak-Stelmokas was only 24 years old and newly married. Randi left behind her parents Mike and Maryann, sister, Blair, her husband Billy and her daughter Morgan Lee, not quite 2 years old.
When the one year anniversary was approaching in 2006, David Green started the Ride for Randi to let her parents, family and friends know that Randi is not forgotten. A committee made up of several of Mike’s co-workers and friends assisted David in gathering generous donations from local businesses and individuals to help make the ride a success. Money was raised for the Morgan Lee Trust Fund and the Massachusetts Children’s Angel Memorial Project. This year the proceeds will once again be donated to the Massachusetts Children’s Angel Memorial Project as well as the Hardwick Elementary School for books and St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
Randi’s ride will be held on August 15th 2009. We are again asking for help. Any donations, either monetary or items for our drawings, are greatly appreciated. Checks should be made payable to the Randi Lee Swistak-Stelmokas Memorial Fund. If you have items for our drawing that can not be mailed, we would be happy to pick them up if you contact David Green at (413) 575-3276 or Martha Parker at (413) 967-7137.
This year, we are also offering the following levels of sponsorship.
1. $200 + donation your company name will appear on the T-shirt, website and banner.
2. $100 company name will appear on website and banner.
3. $50 company name will appear on website.
To be listed as a sponsor for the t-shirt and banner the deadline for donations will be July 25th.
The area that Randi grew up in may be a small town but there is nothing small about the power of love here that will keep Randi’s memory alive!
Thank you for your support!
